Attacked by several departments along with the SEAT plane from Broken Bow, the fire was limited to 283 acres at Valentine National Wildlife Refuge. • A map provided by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service shows the outline area of the acres that burned at Valentine National Wildlife Refuge which threatened headquarters. The SEAT plane dropped two loads near the west end of Round Lake, by Highway 83, to keep the flames in check.
